Man under guard in hospital after shooting
A 36-year-old man is under police guard in hospital after a shooting in Tasmania's north-west.
Police went to a house in East Devonport after a 46-year-old woman was shot in theshoulder about 1am (AEDT).
Six hours later, police chasing an armed man saw him turn the gun on himself.
The man's under guard in hospital in a satisfactory condition suffering a self-inflictedgunshot wound to the head.
The woman's been treated and released from hospital.
Police say they're still investigating the relationship between the woman and the man.
No charges have been laid.
