NSW government declare disaster areas

The government has declared more than 15 areas as bush fire emergencies, also known
as section 44's.

These include the Wollongong-Wingercarribee area where fire is threatening homes and mines.

An emergency has also been declared in the Narromine-Kabonne area, the Blue Mountains,
Mudgee and the Shoalhaven district where around 20 houses have been destroyed.

Other emergency areas include Cessnock, the Richmond Valley, the MacLean area, Kempsey,
and in Oberon where a major fires is also threatening property.

Other areas include Hawkesbury, Penrith, Liverpool, Wollondilly, Campbelltown, Gosford,
Singleton, Muswellbrook, Sutherland and around the Grafton area.

Fire fighting authorities have deployed 46 aircraft for water bombing and surveillance work.
