NSW: Police continue a scaled down search for snowboarders
Police plan to wind back their search today for four snowboarders who vanished without
trace on the heights of the Snowy Mountains 10 days ago.
The army yesterday provided experimental airborne thermal imagining equipment in a
desperate attempt to find body warmth somewhere within the 300 square kilometre search zone.
Police now believe the four were probably stopped by ferocious blizzard conditions on the
day they set out and are now buried under snow.
They consider any survivor a miracle.
The week-old search has failed to find any clue of the Sydney adventurers in what were
thought to be the three most likely locations in the Kosciuszko National Park.
Police are now turning their attention back to Lake Albina, the camp site SCOTT BEARDSMORE,
26, his brother PAUL, 24, and their 25-year-old companions DEAN PINCINI and TIM FRIEND, had
proposed before they began their three-day adventure.
They'll also again search the areas around the top of the Crackenback ski lift.
