A pupil from Buxton Community School is a step closer to achieving her dream of becoming an opera singer after gaining a place at Chetham's School of Music.
Sarah Meek, who has been singing since she was seven, will start in September at the world class music school in Manchester.
Sarah said: "There were several auditions. After you hand in the application form there is an assessment audition and a main audition if they want to call you back. My first study will be voice and my second piano."
In addition to receiving academic and music tuition at the highest level, Sarah will have the opportunity to take part in concerts held at key music venues such as the Royal Northern College of Music and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
For Sarah, who will be boarding, the school day will start at 7.30am with warm-ups before breakfast.
Then from 8.20am to 4.30pm she will be studying and will have a practice time in the evening.
Her singing teacher Claire O'Neill said: "I am thrilled with Sarah's achievement.
"She works so hard and deserves every success with her singing.
"She is a very talented singer and will be an asset to Chetham's Music School. I wish her all the best with her future career in music."
